I never give sheet music a second thought…until the holidays roll around!  Somehow, sheet music and the holidays seem to go hand-in-hand and this season, I’ve seen so many beautiful projects that incorporate sheet music.

Once upon a time, I used to play the piano and somewhere tucked away in my garage, I have my old music books.  I always think that one day I’ll take lessons again so I’m not quite ready to tear apart my music books and use them for decoration.  No matter, though, because you can print gorgeous sheet music from your home computer!  Details below.

6 Fun Holiday Uses for Sheet Music

1. Sheet Music Vase

I was recently browsing the latest Pottery Barn catalog when I spotted this vase on the dresser.

It’s fun, festive and within my limited skill set!  {Because I’m not really a crafty person, just a crafty-wannabe…}  I already had a glass vase at home, so I simply taped some sheet music around the vase and finished it off with a bit of twine!  You don’t even have to own any sheet music to do this project because you can print it from your home computer.  Check out the great {FREE} images available from Angie at Knick of Time, like the one I used below!

2. Sheet Music Garland/Banner

Who wouldn’t want a little joy in their life?  Nest of Bliss has a great tutorial for creating a sheet music banner that includes printing letters on it and embellishing the edges with glitter!  You can read Brandi’s full tutorial {here}.

You could also create a paper chain garland to decorate your Christmas tree and this project is something you could do with the kids.

Timeless and elegant, sheet music wreaths add a sense of sophistication and holiday charm.  This rosette wreath from Anthology on Main is spectacular!

4. Sheet Music Ornaments

There are so many different ornament styles that can be created using sheet music.  These are two of my favorites:

You can find tons of other sheet music projects on Pinterest, so if you have any sheet music lying around, I’m sure you can find a use for it.  But remember, even if you don’t have any sheet music, you can always print it from your home computer.  Angie at Knick of Time has a great selection to choose from!
